Gutter - Screws, H-Hangers, S-Hangers, Gutter Wedges
The size of the gutter is 5" wide and 4" deep with a thickness of .027 gauge aluminum. We also offer copper k–style, half round, and commercial sizes. There are a variety of ways to install gutter. Some are listed above, but the most common is (hidden) H–Hangers. Any time the fascia board is flat and 2X, we use H-Hangers unless otherwise requested. The hangers are placed inside the gutter, 2 ft. - 2.6 ft. apart, with a 4" screw inserted through the back of the hanger into the fascia. If the fascia is angled we recommend gutter wedges - a little extra money, but well worth it. The other methods are typically used on remodeling projects.

Downspouts
All downspouts are riveted with .44 aluminum rivets which give a cleaner look, prevent rust, and allow debris to flow freely through the downspout. The outlet from the gutter to the downspout is drilled with a 2-3/8" whole saw which helps prevent clogs. The outlet is punched in the top; never drilled through the bottom or chiseled.

Miters
All miters are also riveted with .44 aluminum rivets for the reasons mentioned. The gutter inside the miter is always cut at 45 degrees, thus giving the miter extra strength and only one seam to seal instead of three. The end caps and miters are sealed with only the highest grade of polyurethane sealant, not silicone. A polyurethane sealant allows the joint to expand and contract with extreme changes in temperature; it also adheres much better than silicone.
